Red Bull’s history in Formula One goes back almost to the invention of the can itself, with former F1 great Gerhard Berger being the first Red Bull athlete almost two decades ago. The involvement grew into something unique in 2005 however when the company entered its own team, Red Bull Racing, in the F1 championship. Since then progress has been swift and more successful than anyone could have imagined. Building on good results over it early seasons, including podiums in Monaco, Canada and at the Nurbürgring, and embracing the most significant changes in the sport’s rules in a decade, the Milton Keynes-based team has this year developed a title-challenging car in the RB05. Drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber have scored with metronomic regularity and under the leadership of team principal Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing has shown it can challenge the might of the sport’s major constructors at each and evrery circuit on the F1 calendar. Rising star Vettel took the team’s first win in China this year and then repeated the performance at the British Grand Prix. Team-mate Mark Webber followed up with victory in Germany and now Red Bull Racing stands poised to mount a major challenge for the both the F1 drivers’ and constructors’ title as the 2009 season heads towards its final third.
