- The Alice Motorrad GP Deutschland takes place in the German circuit of Sachsering, located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Germany. The tight circuit makes for an all action affair of brawling, elbows-out racing as riders jostle for every inch. The first race of this historic old course was held on 26 May 1927, on an 8.7km layout on public roads which ran through the village of Hohenstein-Ernstthal itself. It has been dubbed 'Sachsenring' since 1937. In 1971, West German Dieter Braun won the event and the East German fans sang along as the West German National Anthem was played in celebration of the champion, as is customary. Following this the event was limited to only East European entrants for political reasons. In 1990, with technology dominating, faster machinery made it too dangerous to race through the village as there were some unfortunate fatalities. Eight years later the German motorcycle Grand Prix moved to the Sachsenring from Nurburgring and in recent years the track has been made faster and longer again, with the length now being 3670m.
